I am Samson. I was born into slavery. For all 15 years of my life, I knew no freedom. The cruelty of the pharaoh left me without a childhood, education, and now, without a family. Five years ago I was separated from my mom, dad, uncle, and sister. Not a day goes by when I don’t think of them. I will live the rest of my life not even knowing whether they are dead or alive. And what haunts me even more is that they probably ponder the same questions as me. My monotonous life of regret and forced labor all changed, however. A man named Moses convinced the pharaoh to free us Israelites. Although this seems impossible, it worked. I wonder how such a miracle occurred. I gathered together my few possessions - my cloak, walking stick, and bracelet from my parents. We raced through the Red Sea as waves behind us crashed onto Egyptians and their horses that were trying to catch us. And that brings me here, at the foot of Mount Sinai.
