Things are different here in Moab. The locals seem pretty confused because of our arrival. The King of Moab doesn’t seem to like us. I heard a rumor that an evil man named Balaam tried to pray to Hebrew Gods, attempting to curse us Israelites. But for some reason we haven’t been cursed. Some say it is our God reversing these curses into blessings for us. Now here, the leaders, including Moses, are taking census of us all to see how many are left before we make the final push to the Holy Land. Many of the folks I started the journey off with as a teenager are gone now. The majority of people, in fact, has become the younger generation. Most of them haven’t experienced oppression from Egypt, but they surely feel the consequences on our never ending journey.
